I was back visiting the Fuess family in Thousand Oaks. While Paul was taking another trip to Egypt, I hung out at Michael and Natalie's lovely house. As it rained most of my stay, and everybody was busy of course, I didn't get to see much new. Instead, I got to start on some new web projects.

Paul came back from Egypt especially to be able to celebrate my birthday, which meant a lot to me. We decided to go on a short road trip up north to see the beautiful Big Sur. I went there when I first came to the States in 1996 and it was nice to revisit the place. I remembered a lot of the scenery, which is quite spectacular.

Driving back to LA, February 2008
My stay in the States got cut short, as Paul got more work overseas and I was invited to come along. Before leaving the States, we got to spend a couple of days in the house in Larkspur, which was an enjoyable experience apart from the getting the Jeep stuck in the snow so we missed our first flight out. On the bright side, it meant I had two more nights of feeling I belonged somewhere; that I was home. After Colorado, first stop was Cairo. My third visit to Egypt in a year, at this point I must admit the excitement has worn out a bit. 'Being at home' at this point is much more appealing to my emotional being.

This new year that is rapidly unfolding, is full of changes and surprises already. I feel the lessons I have right now are about letting go of patterns and pains of the past, and practice being grateful of the life I am recreating every day, the life and all the love that is present in my reality and which continues to expand and grow. This year is also about learning to let go of what I can not control, but which I can influence with my heart and mind, peeling off those layers of filters that I carry which stops me from seeing clearly what is going on inside. My faith and trust in that nothing happens at random, that my outer reality can be read as a map of my consciousness, my inner world continues to challenge me, or rather I am still learning how to interpret my world, and how to understand and accept myself in my entirety.
