Cairo One More Time |

I returned to Cairo with Paul, where he was to finish off one of his many projects. It was hard to leave the State, knowing that I might be on the road for a while still without a sense of home haunting me emotionally. Well, since our trip was delayed a couple of days, I didn't have time enough to get the visa for India that I needed, which meant Paul took off on his own and I stayed behind in Cairo by myself, reflecting on my life yet again. What was supposed to be 5 days away in India turned into 7 days, but luckily, I didn't have to spend the entire time by myself. Alaa and his wonderful family spent a couple of days babysitting me. It was quite enjoyable to hang out with the bunch and I got a little more insight into the Egyptian culture. |

| I really enjoyed visiting Lisbon, even if we were only there for a day and a half. It felt somewhat familiar. Walking down its streets felt like I had been there before. The worst part of our Lisbon experience was the airline TAP which not only lost our luggage and failed to deliver it to us in a timely and responsible manner (we had to find it and pick it up ourselves in the airport), they also lost part of our things and thoroughly soaked everything in some waterlike liquid. If you google lost luggage and TAP airlines, you'll see that it is a very common issue with this airline and there are a lot of people who have had similar, unhappy experiences too. If you want to visit Lisbon, I highly recommend you to take another airline (TAP, Take Another Plane!). |  Lisbon View, March 1, 2008 |
